A 15-year-old student, identified by his last name Kim, assaulted his female teacher at a junior high school in Cheongwon, North Chungcheong Province, according to the Chungcheongbuk Education Office.
It said the incident erupted after Kim's mother, 46, started arguing with his teacher, identified Shin, over her son's misbehavior. Kim was due to transfer to another school.
At the time, another teacher, identified by her family name Lee, 35, started recording the dispute on her mobile phone.
Kim grabbed the teacher's hair as his mother was trying to fight Lee over the cell phone. During the scuffle, Kim attacked the teacher right after seeing Lee bite his mother's hand.
The student pushed the teacher onto the floor and hit her more than 20 times, according to the education office. His mother also allegedly kicked the teacher during the fight.
Lee sustained injuries, which will take two weeks to heal, but she has reportedly returned to work. The office said it will take necessary measures after examining the incident.
