The 2nd Volley Ball Competition for Teachers Nationwide is slated to be held at Hwa San Sports Center and a gymnasium of Jung San Elementary School in n North Jeonbuk Province from 9:00 a.m. on November 13 for elementary, middle and high school teachers to compete against one another and build up friendship.
The competition organized by the KFTA and hosted by Jeonbuk Federation of Teachers' Association will be participated by about 1,000 people including athletes belonging to 16 municipal and provincial teachers' associations and educational figures.
There will be 31 games following a preliminary league of four teams in a tournament style, and the teams that entered the semi-final in 2009 will have different seed arrangements.
Awards to be given to teams are: cash worth one million won and a flag and a trophy for a winning team in the final; a trophy and 700,000 won for a winning team in the semi-final; a trophy and 500,000 won for a third-ranking team from two cities/provinces; 300,000 won, respectively, to three teams for excellent play; and 200,000 won for nine teams for participating in the event. Personal awards include the MVP award (a gift worth 200,000) and the excellence award (a gift worth 200,000 won) are given to one person each.
As for the program, the opening ceremony starts at 9:00 a.m., the preliminary league starts from 09:30, congratulatory performance and a lucky draw from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., the quarter final, semi-final and final games from 2:00 p.m., and the closing ceremony at 5:50 p.m.
The event will be attended by Seol Dong-keun, first vice minister of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, superintendent Kim Seung-hwan of Jeonbuk Province and Jeonju Major Song Ha-jin to deliver congratulatory remarks.
At the 1st competition held at Gi Jang Sports Center in Busan in 2009, Gyeongnam Federation of Teachers' Association was the winner with Jeonbuk Federation of Teachers' Association as a runner-up.
